Lagos Police Arrest Driver Implicated In Alleged Multiple Cases Of Sexual Assaults And Robbery

Adedayo Ben Adegbola is in the net of the Lagos State Police Command and he may not be free anytime soon because of the serious allegations hanging on his head. He was arrested on October 31 after posts of his nefarious activities went viral.

Adedayo 's modus operandi , according to some of his victims , was to drive to secluded areas after picking mainly female passengers, sexually assault them and then rob them of their possession. He operated with one of the Taxi hailing services. And some of his victims were smart enough to track him and called him out on the social media. The Lagos State Police Command also tracked him and he was arrested.

The Police statement on his arrest reads "Police detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have successfully arrested one Adedayo Ben Adegbola, a commercial taxi driver, in connection with multiple cases of rape, defilement, assault, indecent assault, and armed robbery targeting female passengers across the state."

"The suspect, whose picture appeared in viral online posts, was identified by several victims as the perpetrator of the vicious crimes."

"This painstaking effort by the Police Joint Investigation teams led to the arrest of the “vicious and very notorious suspect” on October 31, 2025."

"The police also recovered the vehicle used in committing the offenses: a red Toyota Corolla with registration number JJJ 226 HT. The car has been secured as an exhibit for prosecution."

"The suspect is currently in police custody as investigation is intensified to apprehend any other individuals suspected to be involved in the crimes."

"The Command urges any other victims of this vicious and notorious suspect to report immediately to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti. Victims are encouraged to provide relevant information and evidence to assist the ongoing investigation, with a firm assurance that their identities will be properly protected."
