The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the dismissal of 115 of its personnel in what it described as a major internal reform to uphold professionalism, discipline, and integrity within the agency.
In a statement posted on its official X (Twitter) handle, the DSS said the dismissals were part of ongoing efforts to “sanitize its ranks” and ensure that only officers who embody the Service’s core values remain in active service.
The agency also warned the public to beware of former operatives impersonating DSS officers to commit fraud or other illegal activities. The Service identified some dismissed personnel, including Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, stressing that they no longer represent the DSS in any capacity.
According to the statement, details of the affected personnel have been published on the DSS official website www.dss.gov.ng for public awareness.
The DSS further urged Nigerians to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be its operative before engaging with them, providing a contact number (09088373515) and email address for complaints and verification.
The Service reiterated its commitment to maintaining high ethical standards, warning that it would continue to rid its workforce of bad elements and impostors undermining the agency’s credibility.
